Description

This painting emerged as a reminder that when I allow life’s excessive busyness to hijack my mind, then my inner-boat gets tossed in the waves of excess thought. Versus when I allow meditation to empty my mind, I can let go of the distractions of other people’s agendas, that compete with my inner-peace.

A reminder of the principles of duality, that each aspect of life is created from a balanced interaction of opposite and competing forces. Yet these forces are not just opposites; they are complementary. Up-down, in-out, hot-cold, sweet-sour, young-old, male-female, life-death … the list goes on. If we don’t have an opposing counterpart, then we do not perceive the value of the first.
