THE EPIPHANY OF THE PATRIARCH
Russian Orthodox ‘Saint Peter the Metropolitan’ bishop, the patron saint of Moscow. This real life saint lived in the late 13th and early 14th centuries. Peter entered the monastery at 12 years of age, painted iconography and lived as an ascetic hermit before becoming a leader.
This version of the famous iconographic portrait, depicts the enlightened Saint Peter absorbed in creative revelation. His gaze holds the epiphanic realisation of the equality of all spiritual practises, with their shared core of Peace and Love.
